Secure two recommendation letters on official letterhead: Request letters from two teachers or professors who have taught you directly. The letters must be written on official institutional letterhead, signed by the recommender, and dated. Some Chinese universities require the letters to be sealed and signed across the seal. Ask recommenders to include their contact details, institution name, department, and position. Give them at least six weeks to prepare.

Complete the online CSC application form: Register at the CSC application portal at studyinchina.csc.edu.cn. Fill in all personal, academic, and programme details carefully. Errors in the online form that contradict the documents you submit create inconsistencies that raise flags during review. Upload scanned copies of all required documents in the format and size specified by the portal. Save and review your application before submitting.

Prepare the physical document package if required by your target university: Many Chinese universities require a physical copy of your application package by post in addition to the online submission. The physical package typically includes printed copies of all online documents plus the originals or certified copies of attested certificates. Confirm exactly what your target university requires and send the package by international tracked courier with enough lead time to arrive before the university's physical submission deadline.
