About the Omani Scholarship Program for Pakistani Students
The Omani Scholarship Program is offered by the Sultanate of Oman under the Omani Program for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation. It provides a limited number of scholarships for Pakistani nationals to pursue Bachelor's degrees at selected private higher education institutions in Oman. For the 2025-26 cycle, 10 scholarships were available: 2 fully funded (covering stipend and airfare) and 8 providing tuition fee waiver only.
Available programs cover Engineering, Humanities, IT, and Sciences - notably, Medicine is specifically excluded from this scholarship. The scholarship follows a three-step application process: applying to universities through the Oman study portal, registering with the Omani Ministry of Higher Education, and notifying the Pakistani Embassy in Muscat.
A distinctive requirement is the Omani Equivalency Certificate, which must be obtained from the Omani Ministry of Education before your application can be processed. This involves sending IBCC and MOFA-attested Matric and Intermediate certificates to the Omani Ministry and formally requesting equivalency - a process that takes weeks and should be started well before the application deadline.
The application deadline is flexible by university, but HEC strongly recommends submitting before August 25 to avoid last-minute issues. Pakistani students interested in this scholarship should begin the Equivalency Certificate process as early as June to ensure it's ready in time.
