Universitas Andalas International Scholarship 2026 (UNAND)

The UNAND International Scholarship takes a tiered approach to funding - a thoughtful design that broadens access by offering three distinct award levels based on academic record and English proficiency: Full Scholarship (covering tuition, dormitory, living allowance, travel ticket allowance, and BIPA Indonesian language course), Partial Scholarship (covering tuition, dormitory, and BIPA), and Tuition Fee Scholarship (covering tuition and BIPA only). This means students with strong but not top-tier GPAs can still access meaningful financial support rather than being excluded entirely.

The eligibility thresholds for each tier are GPA-based for postgraduate applicants: a GPA of 3.50 or above with TOEFL 500+ or IELTS 5.5+ qualifies for the Full Scholarship; GPA between 3.24 and 3.49 qualifies for Partial; and GPA between 3.00 and 3.23 with IELTS 5.0+ qualifies for the Tuition Fee Scholarship. BIPA - the Indonesian language course for international students - is included in all tiers, helping new arrivals build functional Bahasa Indonesia before or during their academic program.

The application process requires an online form submission with all documents uploaded, a motivation letter addressing three specific questions, and for PhD applicants, scientific publications and a pre-approved supervisor. All applicants must submit a personal statement answering: why they want to study at UNAND, what their long-term plans are after graduation, and a brief overview of their educational background. Interviews are conducted after the initial screening, and the full selection timeline runs from registration opening in January through final announcement in June with semesters beginning in August.
