About the Islamic University of Madinah (IUM) Scholarship
The Islamic University of Madinah (IUM) is a distinguished Saudi public university located in the city of Madinah - Islam's second-holiest city - and is widely recognized across the Muslim world as one of the most prestigious institutions for Islamic sciences and, increasingly, for engineering and natural sciences. IUM offers a fully funded scholarship for international students from any country, enabling them to study in Madinah in a spiritual and intellectually enriching environment.
The scholarship package is comprehensive: annual return international air tickets (both at the start of studies and for each subsequent year), a monthly financial allowance for living expenses, an additional allowance for students who maintain excellent academic grades, free furnished accommodation for unmarried students, quality healthcare at the university hospital, and access to social, training, and sports facilities. The financial support is designed to allow students to study without financial stress throughout their program.
At the undergraduate level, IUM offers programs in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry - all delivered with access to the university's modern facilities. At the Master's level, three specialized and forward-looking programs are available: Renewable Energy, Engineering and Technology Management, and Mechatronics and Robotics - fields that reflect Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 priorities for economic and technological transformation.
A particularly attractive aspect of IUM is its twice-yearly intake, which means applicants who miss one cycle can apply again in six months rather than waiting a full year. Applications are submitted through the Saudi government's Study in Saudi portal. Master's applicants must meet specific academic thresholds including a GPA of 3.75/5.0, GRE Quantitative score of at least 130, and TOEFL PBT of at least 450. All educational documents must be provided with certified Arabic translations.

Madinah is one of the most spiritually significant cities in the world and has a deeply Islamic atmosphere. For Muslim students from any country, living near Masjid al-Nabawi is a profoundly meaningful experience. The city is clean, safe, and well-connected. Summers are very hot (40-45Β°C), but IUM campus facilities are fully air-conditioned. The Islamic environment, proximity to Makkah, and the overall spiritual atmosphere make IUM uniquely attractive for students who value both academic and spiritual development alongside their engineering or science degree.
