Scotland Pakistan Government Scholarship (Women)

Yes. Students in any semester - from first year to final semester - are eligible to apply. If awarded in your final semester, your scholarship covers only the remaining fees from that semester onward.

No. There is no test. Selection is based on your personal statement (500-1,000 words), financial statement showing financial need, and your academic transcript.

No. Only students enrolled directly at HEC-recognized universities are eligible. Students at affiliated colleges (even if affiliated with a recognized university) are not eligible.

The personal statement for the Scotland Pakistan Women Scholarship should be 500-1,000 words and cover these elements in order: (1) Your degree and department - be specific; (2) About yourself - your background, family situation, and values; (3) Your previous education - briefly summarize your academic journey; (4) Why you chose this program - your motivation and academic interest; (5) What you hope to achieve - goals for your education and career; (6) Your financial situation - 2-3 honest sentences about your household circumstances and why you need support; (7) How your education will help Pakistan and the world - connect your degree to a broader impact. Be authentic and specific - the selection committee reads many applications and remembers the ones that feel genuinely personal.

Renewal is straightforward but requires action each semester. After receiving the scholarship, you submit an updated application at the start of each new semester. The updated application includes: your current results (showing satisfactory academic progress), your updated fee voucher for the new semester, and any changes in personal circumstances. HEC then disburses the next semester's funds directly to your university. If you fail to submit the renewal application on time, funding may be delayed. Save all your fee receipts and results documents throughout the scholarship period.
